A Long Way Down by Nick Hornby.

Quite dark, yet v. insightful. It's not one I'm going to go into depth explaining, follow the link for that.

I reccommend it, largely because of the way it explains the rationality behind apparently irrational acts. However, servere health warning, being a Nick Hornby book you need to consider how you are feeling before you read it. It is similar to About a Boy in the respect of being a tad too close to home sometimes, although the absurdity of it means it is also a million miles away from real life and hilarious at the same time. (That probably makes no sense to 99.9% of people, but to the remaining 0.1% you get what I mean and that's what's important).
