We are told we live in an technologically rich environment where you can surf on the information superhighway and find out all you need to know from the click of a button.
Well, back in the real world it's not quite like that and I have come down to earth with a bump, from having thought it was.
Imagined senario:
Doesn't matter so much if I don't actually go to the Baptist Assembly and just take a weekend chilling, doing something else, because they'll probably be doing internet streaming of the main talks or something from the home page and I'll be able to order the main stuff on CD from somewhere
The key article from the Baptist Times will be on line and I can find out
The BUGB home page news section will have details in their news section
There are a range of great Baptist Bloggers who will give me the key details, so I'll know what I want to look at in more detail
Actual senario
In terms of any info on anything other than the situation in Nepal or Zimbabwe I can't find anything on the home site. Certainly no link to being able to order talks
The Baptist Times site hasn't been updated since April 20th
The BUGB site has also not been updated and infact the news section is only referring to it in future tense within another article.
As for the bloggers I have had a bit more luck, but not loads. I don't actually know any of these people, but have found Lev's Blog , Simon Jones and Andy Goodliff
I have learnt an important lesson here about living in the real world, rather than expecting to be able to use the virtual world to enable me to be in two places at once. However, if anybody has any details of how the heck I can get what I need in terms of main talks, or any more indepth report on general weekend it would be very useful.
