For the first 15 minutes I sat there, munching chocolate brownies, complaining this was one of the dullest matches I'd ever seen and then it changed and how it changed. From the opening own goal, to the disallowed goal, to The Hammers having victory snatched from them in the final gasps of normal time to the ball coming off the post in extra time it was all thrilling.
Rarely is football quite that exciting, today it was and from what I hear I believe that things were also gripping north of the boarder. As an impartial(ish) observer in this case I have to say it was a real pity that somebody had to lose.
