I have temporarily ceased being the big bad parent and am enjoying approx 48 hours of me time. As usual not to be wasted.
Fri night : Walk the Line - Film on the life of Johnny Cash. V. good, Reece Witherspoon can sing really well.
Sat: Off to the Tate Modern to explore the rehang. IMO highlight is the room of Juan Munoz's work, including Towards the Corner which is an amazing piece of work. If the piano from the ceiling was the highlight of the original hang this is the equivalent of the rehang. It is a piece of work that is incredibly clever, has a real presence and makes you laugh.
Then off to the British Museum for a quick look before closing time. Didn't have time to look at the Michelangelo exhibition, but did get round the Warren Cup exhibition which was looking at sex and society in ancient Greece and Rome. Was actually a very informative exhibition if somewhat lightweight in terms of the number of exhibits available.
