What you can tell from a mailing

Got a promotional Greenbelt mailing this morning, (always interesting).

The main part of the mailng was the foldout poster / booking form. It seems that the somebody has come up with the perfect description of the festival, which made up one panel of the foldout "one festival.many faces."

Almost as interesting as the main attraction were the multitude of other bits which fell out when I opened the mailing:

First to fall onto the floor essentialchristian.com were advertising the fact Martyn Joseph has a new live double DVD out, (tracks from which you can preview on his website, including the disturbing yet wonderful track Working Mother).

Next was the exciting prospect of a half price Church Times subscription being marketed on the basis of once a month getting a page of Greenbelt stuff (personally I think you'd get more Greenbelt specific stuff for your money becomig an Angel ). On the other hand you would not get all the other stuff that this wonderful publication offers (including Dave's cartoons ).

Next to fall out of the polythene wrapper (no doubt bio-degradeable and eco friendly) was a Pressure Works / Christian Aid leaflet. Not entirely convinced that drumming is going to change the world, but hey sounds like fun for the social conscience.

Finally there was a DFID postcard. Whilst I think it is excellent that they will be at Greenbelt, I was left wondering if this postcard advertising the fact they were going to be there was not a slight waste of the tax payers money & if the money couldn't have been better spent elsewhere.
