Our new minister started preaching yesterday (sorry our minister elect - he doesn't become our minister proper for another fortnight) an event I had very mixed feelings about in advance (I think he will be excellent for the church and the community and is completely the right person ordained by God for the job, but personally I find him challenging in that on the couple of times he had previously preached he has had a habit of tapping into some of my deepest "issues" with evangelicals).
Sometimes, just sometimes I wish I were a robot rather than a human. Then I really could be objective, value free and easily adaptable to change rather than the subjective, value laden individual who finds alot of change, initially atleast, incredibly hard that I am.
