Lazy Sunday Afternoon

Imagine the scene if you can; a wind farm on the horizon with 30 giant turbines gracefully turning, then coming in closer to shore the yachts are one one side of you, turning just before they collide with the jet skis on the other side. As you near the shore there is the odd figure bobbing about in the sea, and you notice one man is swimming properly; he emerges to view from behind the stage which was obsuring your view of his progress.

The stage is a scaffolding structure with a bright blue tarpaulin tied across the top, but with each gust it is looking slightly less secure. It is located just above the promonade at the bottom of a grass bank, which is home to the crowd enjoying the lazy Sunday afternoon. The music coming from the stage is a strange mix of live music (predominantly covers) and recorded music which accompanys the local jive dancing school who intermittently appear on the grass in front of the stage to display their skills and to try and cojole the locals into joining in. This all culminates with Counterfeit quo playing strangely enough Status Quo covers as the wind continues to blow & women of a certain age decide to get up and enjoy themselves.

All in a very British lazy Sunday afternoon; I hope it becomes an annual event.
