Have to say that whilst I haven't watched much of Big Brother this year I did watch the final last night. Was glad to see Pete win & Glynn come in an admirable second, although the whole thing reinforced the fact that this year the show stepped over the line between questionable into completely unethical.
The contestants are apparently screened, but those with recent histories of serious mental health issues are not screened out, as shown by the actions and admissions of atleast two housemates this year. Also Glynn did get his place at uni, but is it ethical for the show to take a contestant when they knew that it would mean he would miss two of his A Level exams?
In many ways I hope this series is the last, although I don't expect it to be. When it started Big Brother was fresh and exciting and still the right side of tacky and questionable but we have seen where the largely unsuccessful attempt to retain those aspects has led & it isn't pretty.
