Comparing the twinkly things

Take two major British cities, ignore the issues around carbon emissions and compare the lights and general way Christmas is being celebrated.

Ok both are major retail areas and so you could argue that both are equally commercial and so far from what it's all about that this is a daft exercise. Still here we go.

Regent Street - Flushed Away is on the lights and the colours are far from tasteful and not even that impressive this year.

Birmingham - The High Street has a German market and the lights are actually tasteful. There are real Christmas trees and Centenary Square has a skating rink - it's all just so different to London and the West End.

It all makes me realise that whilst I love going to London it is not the only place in the world.
