Ok, so the evangelicals in the US are hardline moralists who we can learn little from? Um - no, not all of them. It's one of those popular misconceptions.

A quick game of explore the links on the Baptist Times site quickly gets rid of that view & infact you could easily get the impression that the intolerant hardliners, concerned with moral issues as the expense of other Christian values are actually the British rather than US evangelicals.

The evidence:
from the UK CU dispute rumbles on and it appears in Edinburgh atleast that the hardliners are refusing to take a perfectly reasonable compromise when it's offered to them.

from the US Ethics Daily has the story of the preacher actively working to change Walmarts policy.

So what does this show us? Well, I would argue that it shows us you can't generalise and the term evangelical is one which is becoming increasingly problematic to categorise by, (if ever wasn't).
