It's difficult to answer when people ask what I do; I work, I study and I am mum. In trying to keep a balance in life I now try to give all three answers when I am asked what I do. However, the paid stuff can swamp the others at times and the mum bit can feel like an add on; even though it is the most valuable of the three roles, really.
In terms of the being a student bit, now I am doing it all distance learning, because the uni were wonderful, I feel a bit of a fraud saying student, after all the only bit of the uni I ever get to is the library & that is really infrequent. However, I know that this bit of life needs increasing emphasis over the coming days and months not less.
Anyway, student is part of who I am at the moment (and to update the one reader who will be interested - I've found out I passed the essay I gave in at the end of term and so the whole thing is still on track). Just need to get my backside in gear and get going properly on the dissertation now.
