If you're cold put an extra layer on instead of cranking up the heating another notch.
Now don't for one minute imagine I am trying to get us all to live in igloo like homes or get like Scrooge with the heating, but think about it. How often when we're sitting at home in winter, in a reasonably heated room,do we start to get a bit chilly and so whip the heating up yet another notch (and then just leave it there until Spring - or next time it gets a bit chilly when we turn it up yet again)? Well what if we left the heating where it was (or even dared to turn it down a notch) and went and got a jumper instead?
