Tobias Jones had this excellent article on the way Secular Fundamentalists treat Christianity at the moment in the Guardian yesterday.
It is interesting that he says religion has been viewed as something similar to homosexuality, in terms of the way that it is viewed as something that should be kept private and not shared, and that there is something of the closet about it. This is quote gives an example "Witness, for example, Mary Riddell's astonishing sentence in the Observer last month (try replacing "religion" with "homosexuality" to get the point): "secularists do not wish to harm religion or deny its great cultural influence. They simply want it to know its place." In other words: get back in the closet."
So just in case anybody was wondering I'm ready to come out of the closet and stand up and be counted as a Christian! (just incase nobody had worked out by now that I had that strand of belief).
