Following on from the SPCK saga which Dave "The Cartoon Blog" kept us up to date with so well I have a kind of postscript.
Being worried about quite how many excellent bargains were on the sale shelves I questioned my local SPCK staff today, (being worried the end was nigh after all). However, it turns out that the orders from the new owners are to get rid of all stock over a year old & so that is why you can get a range of wonderful books at roughly 50% off the original price.
That said you do have to remember that even at the bargain prices they have they can add up and so one does still have to exercise self constraint, (but still expect a few more interesting book reviews in the coming weeks ;) )
