We have seen the move from 3 tv channels to a world where you have channels for: news, documentaries, comedy, dramas, God, music (pop, grunge, metal, indie, retro hits, r&b, and classical), history, geography, children, shopping, sport, movies, porn, politics, motors, DIY, makeover, cartoons and so it goes on.
We have seen the invention of the VCR, DVD, Walkman, internet & world wide web, MP3, i-pod, mobile phone and PC.
We have seen the invention of New Labour and Thatcherism and the incorporation of Further Education colleges.
Post-modernism and The New Right have entered our text books.
We have also seen women priests in the CofE, civil partnerships, the fall of the Berlin Wall and the rise of Ben and Jerry's ice cream.
We know what a yuppie is, what a blog is, and what a chav is.
We have heard Abba, Nirvana, Greenday, Wham, Duran Duran, U2, The Cure, The Clash and Billy Bragg.
No wonder I am feeling very very old as I prepare to turn 35 in a few hours.
