Today I feel that it might be appropriate to crack open the bottle of very well chosen wine my boss gave me as my leaving prezzie from her, as I have gotten home to find out I have an address from the beginning of September..............Hurray
What with that and it being my last day in work it's all been a tad emotional. Have to say I will miss the people I've been working with absolutely loads. Whilst I argue that you have to be just a tad eccentric to survive within the world which is FE they are wonderful people who it's been a pleasure to work with.
There are a few people I'll particularly miss. In part because I have learnt so much from them, but also because they were people with wicked senses of humour (which at times were more than a tad cynical, but delightfully funny), and a real generousity of spirit. They also saw stuff in me that I didn't even know was there and helped nurture it - which I'll be eternally greatful for.
I know it all sounds a bit overly fluffy and rose tinted specs - it's not. I know how difficult it was sometimes and the bits about people which drove me up the wall sometimes - but overall they were a brilliant bunch of people to work with.
As for the job, well hopefully this won't be the end of me teaching, perhaps in FE. However, it is the end of a chapter. Working in FE in East Kent, over the last eight years, has been an amazing experience. It's been full of challenges and at times tears, but it has helped me grow loads as a person. Yet again, as I somewhat scarily walk away, I have to realise I have been blessed.
