Regional Variations and something completely different

Ok, anybody reading this over the weekend is probably (i) not bothered about a certain festival or (ii) really fed up they're not there and so I was going to avoid the subject at all today. However, having noticed the differences in the way "the religious" press are covering the event thought it was worth a mention before I moved on to leaving you something totally non-GB related.

The Baptist Times is living in it's own ickle sub-cultural bubble - bless it. To read their article you would think GB was a nice ickle "Christian" event without the diverse mix of mainstream secular and explicitly Christian artists it has. Not sure if this type of coverage says more about the state and mindset of the readers of BT or the denomination in general - which ever it's a tad worrying.

The Church Times , however, has a far better article which captures the true spirit and nature of the festival.

The Methodist Recorder appears, from looking at their headlines and v. basic website, to have ignored Greenbelt completely. So at that point realising I still have quite abit to do before heading off I have given up.

For those looking for something non-GB related to read this Guardian article on the design and (mis)use of the peace symbol makes interesting reading.
