I am enthralled by the latest of my bargain buys that I am reading on the train this week. From Preachers to Suffragists is a book that tells the story of a range of inspirational women from 19th century America including Antoinette Brown Blackwell , Olympia Brown and Anna Howard Shaw .
Their lives are facinating and make really interesting reading, giving a clear insight into a world that in many ways we can't imagine today. There is something very special about finding out about these women of the past who had more courage of conviction than most of us will ever have and who managed to balance faith and activism with total integrity. These are the stories of women who challenged the system with both strength and humility building their lives upon a living faith.
