Why TDOR?

For anybody wondering why TDOR is necessary and what the point of it is I post this link to the names of those who we'll be reading out and remembering. We will just be reading the names and where they're from, but that link also contains details regarding some of their deaths (note it makes disturbing reading). It makes you wonder "why?" It's a question I can't answer.
There are TDOR events in various places internationally and a number in this country as the main TDOR list (which has a shorter set of names) outlines.
