Arrived at church this morning to find each chair had a pile of postcards on. The postcards , produced by CPO, had a picture of a fairly distressed looking, but fluffy bunny on - just the sort of picture the animal rights lobby would use. Underneath was the caption "It's cute but the bunny can't save you".
To somebody with my sense of humour it's hilarious; that the evangelical material we are sending out this Easter advertising our services this year has a kind of "Scary Movie" meets Fast Show type theme going on - (although obviously I don't think it is intended to, I think the bunny is actually supposed to be cute). Having been onto the manufacturers site though I realise it could be much worse, the other connected poster on the CPO website looks like the Duracell bunnies have decided to rebel and are out to destroy anything that gets in their way.
The thing is though anybody who had a similarly slightly warped sense of humour and took the material in this way would probably not be disappointed, as our church does have a certain quality of dysfunctional chaos to it and in fact it is one of the best things about the place.
