Today I went up to Four Oaks in the West Midlands to a friends welcome service. She is a probationer deacon going into circuit (ie somebody who is going from college into first job as a Methodist Deacon) and the service welcomed her and her husband as well as another couple new to that circuit. It was a real privilege to be there and witness the event, as well as catch up with a few friends.
What struck me most was the fact the church was literally overflowing with people, they were struggling to work out where to put everybody. The joy and hope in the place was palpable and a real pleasure to witness. To sum up today was simply lovely and I just thought I'd share something happy.
