So it's almost a year to the day since I wrote this post reviewing the Godless Boys by Naomi Wood. Today the Guardian has this Q&A with Naomi Wood the author discussing the book. It remains a book I would recommend as an interesting but not inspirational read.
Reading the Guardian Q&A I decided I am likely to keep an eye out for Wood's next book about Hemingway's romantic life simply because there is something about Wood which can best be described as a feeling of potentiality. There is a buzz about her within the reviews and interviews -which I acknowledge is publisher hype on one level but which also seems to go beyond this. More than that though there was something within the Godless Boys which suggests that at some point she will produce a gem and fulfil the imaginary quotes she has hanging above her desk to keep herself going.
