Occupy LSX - RIP

So the eviction of the Occupy LSX St. Pauls camp happened yesterday, but I couldn't get to a computer until today. There is loads of coverage if you want to read it, personally I think Giles Fraser's article in the Guardian is as good as any. Seeing the picture of the fence now where the tents were and especially the pictures of back in October has stirred up some wierd personal feelings. Rather than put them together into a blog post which may reveal more about what I am feeling than the issues which should be being discussed I am simply going to refer you back to some earlier posts.

My first post after returning from Occupy LSX, where I went on the first Sunday of the occupation, was filled with hope and pride. The second post was probably my best which explained what it was all about and why I had gone. The third post was an interesting reflection, which again echoes the feelings of hope surrounding those autumn days.

Then it was up to Newcastle and again the hope initially continuted.

This was my post back in January when Occupy Newcastle finally went...and I think that still sums up lots of my feelings about Occupy generally, specifically in Newcastle. This post I gave when the protestor was named as the Time person of the year also touches on some of my feelings.

There are other posts to be explored, but not linked to today due to time. I will return when my thoughts are in better order.
