God changing everything

Been doing some sermon planning and prep - as part of getting in the right zone I relistened to Nadia Boltz Weber's Greenbelt talk on preaching. She talked about the importance of collaboration in the process in that talk - something which really appealed at the time. Realise like so much we hear at GB it was something that I heard, liked, wrote about and then did bugger all on. This time I really want it to be different - have already posted something in a relevant FB group which might help it all. But dear readers, if you would be so good I wouldn't mind I'd like you guys to get involved too.

On the 8th Jan I'm preaching on Gen 1:1-5 and Mark 1:9-11 (also found in Matthew 3:13 -17). Having read around a little and having thought and prayed a bit my initial reaction is to focus on how God's new beginnings are things which come from transformation of the existing into something completely new. Wondering what others think and how God's done that in other ways in our world. Were these two one off moments or is it an ongoing process God is involved in with transformative moments of change being there at regular intervals? If they still sometimes occur how do we recognise them?
