Calming Down and Tuning In

Alot of angst in yesterdays post which let out a jumble of thoughts I've been holding in I think. It did have a beneficial impact on me though. Firstly my ickle bro asked me the questions I needed to think through and then pointed out the type of obvious things only a much younger ickle brother can (i.e. that I need to leave it up to the youngsters to be quite so idealistic whilst I put the skills developed over the last x number of years to use where they may best be used). He also made the point that whilst the structures of churches may not be inclusive much of the church (in terms of people) is inclusive and that I should feel much more positive about it all really.

In light of this I am just posting the You Tube links to three songs which I find useful and which take that mix of feelings and ideals I was talking about yesterday and put them in a positive form. Hope you get time to light a candle and chill with God today too:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V0aAkOe87mo (This version of The Summons by John Bell and Graham Maule has some beautiful visuals)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LMBywWSpUeU (Regulars will know that I love this version of All are Welcome by Marty Haugen soooo much. This hymn means more to me than I can ever put into words.)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EcxOkht8w7c (I The Lord of Sea and Sky by Daniel Shutte is a song which scares me silly every time I sing it because I would like to sing "Here I Am Lord, Please Not Me Lord" sometimes but I know I have to sing it as it is because that is the calling I think I have and I have to be ready to say yes and test that call).
