Popped up to Occupy Newcastle for an hour or so this afternoon and ended up explaining what we were all about to a Greek girl studying locally. During the conversation she told me that two people had been shot dead in Athens yesterday, by the police, whilst they were protesting outside a meeting. Can't find any news coverage to confirm or deny, but she seemed pretty certain on it and the police there have been clashing with the police as this BBC report from a few days ago shows.
