Looking back over my sholder and forward into the mist

Well today is the end of the year (not the calander year, but the academic year) for me. It is the time when my institution marks the finish of the current year (although I have some colleagues still teaching for another week) and some of us start taking leave.

It's been a challenging year, which I've just about survived but also, and more importantly, an experience which I learnt from. The dissertation which I've been doing in my spare time is now at a stage where my tutor says it should get through, (although I'm going to be doing more on it over the next few weeks to try and end up with a better grade).

Therefore, I guess in some ways this year has been a success. Job wise the challenges will continue, particularly when the new year starts - as they always do. Personally though, now the MA is almost over I'm at the stage of thinking about what the next project will be. Why do I need another project? Well largely to ensure that I don't OD on work, (which is quite possible if I don't have something to distract me). Any ideas will be greatfully received in the comments box (although I reserve the right to read and reject them as "not quite me").
