Occupy LSX 1

For the last 24 hours or so I've been down at the Occupy lsx protest outside St. Pauls Cathedral. I think I am going to be posting this over several days as there is so much to say on this - it really was one of the most interesting adventures I've ever been on.

The first post is going to be a bit of a round up of what you'll get as I unpack it in the next few days: why we went; the dirty trick the police played with the removal of the toilets on Sunday night; the wonderful way the police worked with the democratic process and let us have bunting as our barriers; TOH standing up in front of the anti-capitalists saying, "I'm a banker"; the way consensus was achieved via waving; the nine points which "the manifesto" contains; the 5:30am multi-faith prayer meeting; the establishment of a prayer tent and that's all just for starters.

Just a taster - more actual description and analysis over the next few days which may or maynot include comment on Occupy Newcastle.
