As various publications including the NME and the Guardian have proclaimed it's 20 years since Nevermind apparently changed the face of music. I don't know it changed the face of music, but it was special then and it has remained special since.
As people who've been reading for a while will know I have a "worship" playlist that I use in personal worship - it begins with "Come as you are" - the lyrics aren't in any way meant to be spiritual, (as those who have seen the video will know), but it sums it up for me. It begins with the words "come as you are, as you were, as I want you to be". It then goes on with various stuff which I find meaningful but the biggest thing for me is, "And I swear that I don't have a gun, no I don't have a gun". For me that's the key thing - God doesn't have a gun and force us into anything - we always have a choice.
