Twilight Time

We are currently in that twilight time when people take holidays and are about and not about, sometimes overlapping and sometimes not, meaning on occasion you find yourself left in splendid isolation.

So it is that I have been working in splendid isolation this week, just passing other lone figures on the corridor as they man their departments. The benefit of this has been that pieces of art, such as schemes of work, have been and are being created in the type of atmosphere which makes them work (hopefully) far more than if they are constructed amid constant interuption.

At home it is similarly peaceful, Third Party is still away (Cambridge Folk Festival this weekend) before she heads home next week to see mum for a few days and then departing once again.

Yet even in this silence there is a buzz in the air, a strange feeling of electric tension amid the relaxation. It is the buzz of a collective holding of breath and wondering if dreams and visions are about to come to be or whether in a few months all which will be left of this tension is going to be a burden of sadness and disillusionment. To be honest I don't know, all I do know is that what will be will be and within that God and His will need searching for, but that if people spend too long holding their breath searching without doing then dreams crumble amid an awful lot of spluttering.
