Ok, so it's that time of year again when the Telegraph (and other elements of the media together with a clutch of politicians) ask if things are getting easier, etc, etc. It's something of a tradition that I deal with the topic on or around A Level results day each year and normally it gets so repetative that I just refer people back to this....my most comprehensive post on the subject.
ThereĀ some of that traditional reporting, but there are also new twists on old debates as well. For a start the Telegraph actually contains proper debate on the subject this year. It also covers David Willetts view that "tough" subjects should carry more points than soft ones. This is something that I have touched on before.
I could go on but today I am not in the mood. The fact is that uni's ask for certain subjects and discount others and that schools and colleges are getting harsher in their filtering out of people for A2.
