Something special

Tonight we had an ecumenical service (a proper one where the service was held in a Baptist Church, led by a leader of the local New Frontiers congregation and the preacher was an Anglican). I have to say that it was one of the most challenging and moving services I have encountered - not in that soppy self-indulgent way but rather in that sitting and listening in awe to an amazing man way.

The preacher wasn't the type you normally find in "No-where-ville by the sea", rather he was an Oxbridge educated Anglican Canon called Andrew White who, until recently, was based in Baghdad. This article gives a flavour of the work he has been engaged in.

The main message of the sermon was that like Daniel we all need to trust God and take risks. Listening to this man you knew that he had taken this message on board in his own life in away that most of us in the West will probably never fully understand. I felt priviledged to be in the congregation this evening listening to him preach.
