God is Good

Yesterday I was down in London for a meeting. It turned out I was v. close to the Southbank and so could wander down to the Tate Modern in the Spring sunshine after the meeting, still getting the train in time.

Also, at the last minute (like after all tickets were booked and before after I'd left home on Wednesday) I found out my last class on Friday was cancelled due to a conference the students were going on in the morning. The one before was full of adult learners and I had set it up so I could teach it to whoever was there (bearing in mind Access students and childcare issues tend to be problematic sometimes). In light of this I was able to get permission from my boss to take leave from the Access class. This meant that rather than seven hours of travelling on Thursday and Friday (back to Durham for work and then back down south to TOH) I was able to take a 45 minute journey back to MK and spend today here chilling, whilst TOH is at work.

In addition to the saved travelling it meant I could go with her to a small group she belongs to last night....and meet a great bunch of people who pray regularly for me and Third Party as a result of TOH's prayer requests. It was a real priviledge meeting this v. different bunch of people, primarily evangelical, who have accepted TOH in to their mist so completely despite her different outlook on life sometimes.

So, as the sun shines and I can properly relax for the first time in months....without feeling guilty....I want to shout out today GOD IS GOOD!!!!

However, I know it's not that good for all. I am feeling blessed and refreshed today...around the world others are dying, crying and struggling to survive facing disappointment. My prayer is today that as I celebrate God I will do so joyfully and totally, but not forget those who are in darker places. If you're in that place I want to give you a hug, whilst you have full permission to tell me to feck off and stop being so blooming cheerful ;)
