Some more reflections on the trawl

The Ark of the Covenant is something anybody who is of the right age to have grown up watching Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones will be familiar with. In Exodus 25:1 - 26:37 we get the instructions around it. We also get the first instructions for glamping in terms of the Tabernacle instructions.

Jesus was a storyteller and a teacher. It was a question of theological literacy going on. That said it appeared sometimes they didn't get the message. As we continue through Mark 4:30 - 5:20 we get more difficult "mental health" issue pieces relating to mental illness and demons.

Psalm 23:1 - 6 You know, I know it....prefer to sing it though.

Instructions carry on in Exodus 27:1 - 28:43 and we move onto the first instructions for Religious tat. (Sorry, must be more dignified)...there are instructions for vestments going on....lot's of nice colours going on. I could say something but I'm just about resisting.

Mark5:21 - 6:6a one of my fave bits in here. Jesus with the woman who has stopped bleeding, whilst on his way to raise Jairus' daughter. I could say much but won't. Rather once I have finished the course I may well post the narrative sermon I did on this for an assignment.

Then we're on to Jesus dealing with the people who couldn't get their heads around what the local boy was doing.

Psalm 24: 1- 10 Wonderful, no other word but wonderful.

So it is I've covered the weekend and gotten to today. Exodus 29:1 - 30:38 We are onto a cooking lesson which gives instructions on how to have a holy party. The passage has in it some interesting stuff on Atonement money when there is a limit put on what the rich can pay. This is important because the law of God is about trying to maintain equality between all. Mix of smells would have been interesting.

Mark 6:6b - 29 Jesus sends out the 12 to live in faith. They did loads of good work and Herod gets freaked. Yet another bit of the bible which would give it a 18 rating minimum if properly done.

Proverbs5:15 - 23. Um, ok so I think of cistern as meaning toilet...not a good start with this. But after this a lovely piece of poetry instructing people to enjoy their own wife and her breasts rather than looking elsewhere. It is a father praying blessing on his son. I like this.
