But is it art?

To most of us it's what jokes about modern art are made of but in the art world I guess it's kinda serious. Whatever, the build up to the Turner Prize has begun and this year as the actual exhibition is set to move from London to Liverpool the hype around the whole thing is set to go up a notch, as The Tate also seek to publicise their forthcoming Turner Prize retrospective. This retrospective being what will take the place of the actual exhibition in the Tate Britain this autumn / winter.

The Guardian has an interesting article today where they ask a range of winning artists about their experiences and the "official hype" has kicked off with Tate Etc hitting the doormats of members this morning.

N.b. It doesn't look like they've got around to updating the website yet but when they do the article on John Everett Millais, A Family Affair is worth while reading. The World as a Stage, which advertises the main exhibition of the Tate Modern this autumn winter, is also taking a look at.
