The Power of Dreams

Not got my diary where I've been jotting down verses, etc with me and so can't give refs. However as I've been working my way through Gen and Matt again I have a couple of observations on the readings.

1) Re. the dreams - interpretation comes from God.

2)2 dreams becauseĀ God had made his mind up on the famine in Egypt. This suggests that sometimes God is not so determined. Does this mean that he operates somewhere between total free will and predestination?

3) Jesus was upset when he heard about John being murdered; he tried to go off on his own and process it. Yet, when the substantial crowd worked out where he was going he had compassion and continued to show it even when his disciples were apparently giving him common sense advice to send the crowd home. For me this raises questions about 1) how we treat our leaders. Do we act like the crowd and continue to call upon them when actually they need time out for their own needs? 2) Are our leaders like Jesus, are they driven by compassion even when they have their own stuff to deal with? 3) How should the needs of both work together?

My own conclusion is that we should often give our leaders more of a break and recognise their humanity more. On the other hand when they want to show compassion we shouldn't get in their way.
