Thanks for those who have commented suggesting I lighten up or stop the project right here. Today was OT Gen 4: 17 - 6:22. I could go all deep on some stuff I didn't understand but instead will just say that I think Jabal and Jubal sounded dead cool. I particularly liked that one of them was "father of all who play the harp and flute" (4:21).
NT Matt2:19-3:17, I have quite alot to say related to this - but I'll save it for the congregation who've got to listen to me talking about John the Baptists encounter with Jesus at the Jordan when Jesus goes to be baptised next Sunday morning. Key thing for me is the expectations that John had about who Jesus was and what he should do and the expectations we may also have.
Psalm 3:1-18 was more cheerful. I liked v. 5 which said, "we lie down and then wake again because the Lord sustains us". As somebody who sometimes suffers from depression and gets worse at night I find real comfort in that verse.
