Half hearted demonstrations

Just wandered up from the market square to Palace green with some demonstrators. We were protesting against student fees. Turned into a good chance to catch up with some friends from the vicar factory I bumped into and somebody from the Theology department.

Spotted a couple of young people I recognised from church, which was good. Did not spot my own daughter who I am taking it decided not to protest against the cuts directly impacting her. This I am disappointed by, but not entirely suprised about. I had left her with the comment this morning that she has to follow her own conscience.

With Third Party, though,  I am left wondering whether I should get her a Lib Dem or Conservative membership form and whether she would have been more likely to join the counter demonstration the local Tory rahs were having.
