Wandering around no-where-ville

I managed to fail to get to church this evening because all the town centre churches appeared to have shut up shop and moved out of the town centre. Not sure what was going on elsewhere, but I'm sure something was as my usual outlet only tends to ditch the evening service for (i) snow or (ii) something more interesting elsewhere. My lack of connection will teach me for deciding to avoid morning church and trying to opt for the smaller gatherings.

Anyway deciding that I didn't want to go home or be the sort of sad person who goes and sits in a pub on their own I decided to go exploring no-where-ville-on sea. Having had a wander around our pier which the council have decided to keep open (hurrah) I discovered that besides large amounts of charity shops we have a ridiculously large number of chip shops, kebab shops and chinese take a-ways for a town this size. Now I know in the summer the town makes it's money from the day trippers who for some bizarre reason decide to try us out rather than Islington on sea or the other resorts around with slightly more to offer but the sheer number of these take aways still surprised me.
