Financial Calculations

They say that Third Party will not get EMA from the beginning of next academic year; they say she will be liable for higher fees and must be shown to have been given access into a "better uni" if she still appears "working class" on financial calculations....so that "better uni" can charge more.

The Lib Dems are still saying that "Liberal Democrats believe university education should be free and everyone who has the ability should be able to go to university and not be put off by the cost." Yet they are part of the government implementing the above.

I said this last month. Now I simply say :D Life's a bitch and then you die. I have no incentive to do well over the next year or so....I will be punished if when I finish this course I manage to get back to a wage near the one I had when I left work. If during her time at uni I do, as hoped, enter a civil partnership she will be hammered even more on the following academic years calculations because my "household" income will have increased because TOH's income will come into the equation.

I am now, by virtue of my daughters age and the fact she is probably going to be in the first cohort to get slaughtered by this going to be faced with some life choices I wouldn't have necessarily been, knowing my choices impact the level of debt she will find herself faced with. As a parent I am basically faced with the question of do I want a better now knowing it will give her a worse future?

Am I angry? Actually no. I am simply resigned to the fact this is the way life is. But it is giving me serious food for thought.
