I read too much Douglas Coupland and so am used to surrealism entering my sub-concious although most of the time it tends to stay in the books. However, today it burst out into real life and I kind of felt I was really living in that slightly screwed up wierd Coupland world. Considering how much of a head f**k I am in about church at the moment I have to say that this weeks events have been just an ickle ironic.
Further to my post earlier in the week our church has spent today being church in a really tangible sense and thrown it's community spirit in my direction. After spending this morning engaged in the church tidy up a portion (like the majority of my housegroup) took on the task which was my flat, having deposited me elsewhere.
I have to say that I am overwhelmed with the kindness they have showed and amazed at what they've done. It does mean Third Party and I now have the motivation to stay sorted. Not only because I was more than an ickle embarrassed about it all and never want to go through this again, but also because of the kindness they have shown me. I want to repay it by keeping up the good work ickle by ickle.
On a kind of unrelated but sort of not note check out Transient Frog's my space which has a selection of their songs on. Transient Frog is a band which contains one of the guys from church and have been floating around the local area for a while now. They have finally got their myspace site sorted and I would really advise you to go and have a listen.
Not sure what it would be like to be part of a non-dysfunctional church these days, but I'm really glad that I'm not.
