The Diocese of Exeter has published this excellent prayer on its website which I think people might find useful to take into this coming election week:

Election Prayer
As we move towards casting votes that will affect future decision-making in our society,
let us reflect on what we do:

May we choose for the sake of the Earth,
not just the sake of the Constituency
May we think long-term and for future generations,
not for ourselves today and tomorrow
May we decide according to principles and policies,
not personalities and prejudices

Let our deliberations express a commitment to extend
and deepen our participatory democracy
Let our choices be influenced by what is best for the common good,
not for personal advantage
Let us vote for those who are voiceless and marginalised in a world
marked by injustice and inequality

Might we elect for peaceful solutions to situations of conflict, violence and war
Might we decide not only for what we can measure in our lives
but also for those aspects of life which are non-measurable
Might we seek a transforming politics built on respect,
integrity, accountability and hope

May we become part of the solutions which we advocate
Might we express solidarity with those who have no choice
Let peace be in our hearts and in our voting
