Listening to the President and Vice President

Last night I headed over to Richmond to listen to the President and Vice President of the Methodist Conference. I thought the q&a would be followed by a sermon, or address or something, but it wasn't. Just a normal service, which was quite lengthy, but without the sermon...a bit wierd really. Anyway, I am not moaning, TOH has told me I'm not allowed to ;). The Q&A was good because it highlighted interesting stuff going on in the world, country and district. The sort of evening which would not lead to the misreading of the banner behind them when they were speaking. Unfortunately the lettering made "Jesus is Lord" look like "Jesus is bord", (even without the e in it you could see how it was misread).

Not going to go into any more detail, simply direct you to their rather good blog which has a range of interesting snippets about their visit to the Darlington district this week. Within Sundays post it was good to see that a couple of people I quite admire had got a good mention within dispatches. Their blog also includes the letter sent out to all churches by them following the Presidents speech at the CofE general synod.
