A Bit More Q (&a)

Todays Q week events involved going to a workshop related to resources for sexual health for women who are L/B. It was a really informative event which was useful. The key information gained was, despite the UK advice, international research shows that all women should regularly have smear tests whatever their sexuality.
There was also a faith panel discussion this evening which was interesting. The contributors were from MCC, CofE, Quakers (Friends) and a Buddhist guy and each had some generally encouraging things to say before engaging in a q&a. It was good to be in a place where faith and LGBT sexuality were being discussed in a positive way and where it didn't feel that the two were kind of incompatible, but equally it didn't feel that the "gay rights agenda" was being pushed.
It was encouraging to hear, after giving Living it Out a plug, that some of the Cramner types had read and enjoyed and that it was being ordered for a college library.
Having visited the website again, for the first time in a while, it is good to see how the list of links is growing.
I am greatful for Q week and particularly for the work of the committee who have put a heck of a lot of time into making this work. During the week I have become increasingly aware of how whilst I may now be in a fairly comfortable place others aren't and whilst I have had fairly positive experiences others haven't. Q week provides the opportunity to discuss a range of relevant issues in a sensible way.
