Today is the end of a v. long term and I am v. excited about the prospect of finally getting some decent sleep in, (although there is now too much Christmas to be done to do my usual day and a half hibernation to recover).
I am starting to get an ickle bit excited about Chrimbo now I have a chance to think about it. This year Christmas is going to be a kind of ongoing affair lasting about 5 days with chances to catch up wtih different people throughout and spend time with different types of community.
Tonight I start by going to a carol concert in London and networking with part of my internet community.
Tomorrow I stay in London and get to catch up with my v.b.f. who is down from the far north for Chrimbo and get the chance to catch up with an extended part of blood family who is being kind enough to let me doss at theirs.
Sunday Third Party and I have our Christmas Day together.
Monday I get to sleep!! (hurray)
Tuesday I am going to be chilling with a bunch of people at church and doing lunch there, (not a lunch for the sad and lonely you understand but a lunch for people who feel like doing community together at Christmas) and then I have various options of people's houses to go and chill in if I don't just feel like going home and doing more sleep.
Wednesday I do Boxing Day with dad and brother(s).
What is interesting about how it's all worked out is it has made me see exactly what a full life I really have. Sometimes I get a bit lonely thinking I am this sad born again spinster, but I have realised in working out the finer points of Christmas that I'm actually not. I am blessed to be part of a bunch of wonderful communities and households and I intend to enjoy Christmas with them all. So perhaps the Grinch has learnt to love Christmas afterall.
