I have too many books and CD's but I can't bring myself to part with most of them. In many ways they are part of me, a way of me expressing my identity around the house and sometimes it is really useful to have them lying there.
For too long I have wondered about the possibility of a fire; how would I know what I had. Well I have found that Facebook has the visual bookshelf application which has enabled me to start putting together a comprehensive list of what I own. Due to the nature of the site and application you can build up your list as and when you have time rather than feeling you have to do it immeadiately. Also it has the benefit over a simple spreadsheet on the computer of being held externally and so if the worst were to happen I would still be able to get access to the list.
So forget the idea that Facebook is just for social networking, (although I have fuond that quite useful). It has its practical purposes aswell. Oh and as an aside if any of you who I am linked to on there fancy borrowing any of the books, (apart from the three I am currently reading as they are from the local library), please feel free to message me.
