As all of us know that life has a "not so fluffy side" and those of us who work in "caring" or "educational" professions know sometimes that forces us into making professional decisions we would rather not have to make.
Sometimes, in community life, the "not so fluffy side" can suddenly become arrive in an unexpected form. In the professional situation you know exactly who you need to refer the situation onto and the routes for referral, in the unprofessional situation it's not so easy. You have to make judgement calls based on the resources available to you at the time. This can mean involving others in the situation who you would rather not; of what it tells them about the world you inhabit beyond the usual middle class facade aswell as the guilt of making demands on the time of people who you know are very, very busy.
Twice this week the "not so fluffy side of life" has intruded on my "nice middle class life" and I have had to call on the community who support me to help out. In both situations I have been aware of the difference of being a professional with a clear set up in place to being a "single female who has been slightly out of her depth".
Whilst I clearly can't go into details prayers would be appreciated for some of Third Party's community of friendship at the moment.
