Reflective and chilled

Yesterday was one of those sort of gentle days. In the morning I gave fieldwork a rest, going instead to my "home" church with Third Party. It was cafe worship, (you know the sort of thing....get hold of part of an excellent idea and then just change the seating and order of service slightly). I am cynical sometimes I know, but I do actually like Cafe style worship. I miss The Lounge which is the HBBC monthly version. Anyway one of the things we did in an excellent and creative service yesterday was send Christmas cards to prisoners of conscience. This is an Amnesty International initiative which I would urge you to get involved in. At the end of the service I was also able to pick up a copy of a book I have been waiting some months for. Reflective Disciple

Back in May I posted about hearing the author unpack what it was about. Yesterday I was finally able to get my hands on a copy of The Reflective Disciple by Roger Walton.
After sitting and putting some pics of The WAVE and Durham Cathedral on Facebook in the evening I did head off to do a spot of fieldwork and enjoyed a fairly traditional Carols by Candlelight service. So all in all a v. chilled day.

Here are a few pictures, mainly of the Cathedral, which I liked, from those uploaded today. (Note after some playing about they still look a bit haphazard as I'm still getting the hang of using the media function, but hey they're in there for you to see).
