Been reading Palatinate, (the sensible student newspaper) and The Sanctuary (the satirical student newspaper). Have to say that The Sanctuary, with it's tagline "Like news, but better..." is the better of the two. The humour is great, a couple of one liner snippets to make you laugh this evening:

(Within the Monopoly Durham Edition mock game in the centre spread ) - "Jack Wills - The official sponsors of the gilet/pyjama-bottom "look". You either love it or hate it with a firey passion." (For the record I love JW, although I can only afford to own one item of clothing from there, Third Party loathes it).

(From the initial one liners) - "RSPCA survey shows Kerry Katona is 'most common dog in Britain'"

Palatinate is much more sensible and contains a range of interesting and useful articles including an article relating to two forthcoming referendums in Durham, one relating to HE funding and one about whether the DSU should disaffiliate from the NUS. No suprise to know I will be supporting the campaign to remain affiliated and also be supporting the option, however it is framed, relating to HE funding being in line with the recommendations of the NUS document of "Funding our Future Blueprint".
