Art Galleries and stuff

Catching up with some of my "originally on line" friends and acquaintences, as well as meeting a few new ones, over the last few days has been cool. What I think I enjoyed just as much with my recent gadding about was getting to go exploring in an art gallery again.

The National Museum of Wales was next door to the conference centre and was cool. There was a rather good, free, Alfred Sisley (see Wiki) exhibition. If you happen to be in the area I'd highly recommend it.

Amongst the main works held by the gallery was one of Gainsborough's I hadn't come across before of a Rocky Landscape with Hagar and Ishmael. It was a really interesting picture which put Hagar and Ishmael in a context which contemporary to Gainsborough.
